We rarely get to see The Duchess of Cambridge speak at length on camera, but when we do it's always with an important cause in mind. This morning, to mark the beginning of Children's Mental Health Week in the UK, Kate recorded a message on behalf of herself and Prince William for the charity Place2Be. In the video Kate, who is patron of the charity, discusses the importance of awareness and help for children struggling to cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and self-harm.
Kate calls for a change to the stigma associated with mental illness and suggests that helping a child suffering from emotional difficulties should be no different to helping a child with a broken arm. "We need to help young people and their parents that it's not a sign of weakness to ask for help," she explains.
