Texas senator Ted Cruz announced his 2016 presidential bid via Twitter on Monday and followed up with a video message to his supporters. The Republican wrote, "I'm running for President and I hope to earn your support!" before showing a clip of the American flag, smiling faces and cities around America. He also added the message, "It's going to take a new generation of courageous conservatives to help make America great again, and I'm ready to stand with you to lead the fight."
