Andy Cohen has come to his own defense after #BoycottBravo became popular on Twitter on Monday. The backlash erupted after Andy addressed Kylie Jenner's feud with Amandla Stenberg during his "Jackhole of the Day" segment on Watch What Happens Live. "Today's jackhole goes to the Instagram feud between Kylie Jenner and Hunger Games star/Jaden Smith's prom date Amandla Stenberg, who criticized Kylie for her cornrows, calling it cultural appropriation," he reportedly said. Then Andy asked his guests, Orange Is the New Black's Laverne Cox and Vogue editor at large André Leon Talley, for their take on the topic. "White girls in cornrows . . . is it OK or nay, Laverne and André?" Laverne said, "Ummm . . . Bo Derek," referring to the actress's look in the film 10 from 1979. Meanwhile, Andre was more direct, saying, "To me it's fine."
Following the Internet's response, Andy shared the following tweet, suggesting his comments were taken out of context.
To clarify, I gave the jackhole to an online feud & certainly not to the topic or to any individual. I ironically hate online feuds.
