Jeffrey Tambor took the stage at the Emmys on Sunday evening in LA to accept the award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for his role as transgender woman Maura Pfefferman in Amazon's Transparent. Jeffrey, who donned a turquoise ribbon in support of the National Center For Transgender Equality, dedicated his big win to to the transgender community, saying, "Thank you for your patience, thank you for your courage, thank you for your stories, thank you for your inspiration, thank you for letting us be part of the change. God bless you. " He also thanked director Jill Soloway, who won an award for outstanding directing for the same show, adding, "I'd like to thank Jill Soloway for giving me the privilege and responsibility [of the role]."
