Viola David made history on Sunday when she became the first black woman to win best actress in a drama series at the Emmy Awards. But while her inspiring speech brought up important issues in Hollywood, there was one person who slightly cringed: her husband, Julius Tennon. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, the How to Get Away With Murder actress told the host that once she started speaking, her husband was nervous about what she would end up saying. "My husband said afterwards, 'V, I didn't know where you were going with that!'" she joked. Viola almost admitted to drinking a little bit of prosecco before the show to calm her nerves. Watch the hilarious interview above, then check out what Oprah got her as a congratulatory gift.
