Charlie Sheen is rumored to be appearing on the Today show on Tuesday to reveal that he is HIV-positive, People is reporting. Howard Bragman, a top Hollywood publicist and crisis manager, says he was approached by Charlie's team six months ago to deal with the crisis. Howard says the actor is "getting treatment" and that "a lot of people in his life know about it. It's been going on for quite awhile," he explained. "[Charlie's] not necessarily comfortable talking about it. It was very hard to get up the courage for him to talk about it."
The situation becomes more complicated, however, when taking Charlie's colorful history with women into consideration. "The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners," Howard continued. After rumors started swirling earlier this month that an A-list actor had been diagnosed with the disease, it was speculated that Charlie, a father of five, was the person in question. Now the world will just have to tune in on Nov. 17 to get his side of the story.
