Hi Jim – you raise an interesting and fair point! There will be a number of variables which will affect the precise duration of the Exercise Associated Thermogenesis; intensity of exertion, base level of fitness, ambient temperature / humidity, type of complementary exercise (did you do a huge leg session alongside your skips?) etc… I concede that the after burn will be shorter than 12 hours, but I feel that in my own case, the burn lasts longer than an hour.
